20th International Congress on Oral Pathology & Oral Medicine
Joint Meeting of the IAOP and BSOMP
with the Scandinavian Fellowship of Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine
As Presidents of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists and of the British Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, we were disappointed not to be able to see you in London for the planned 2020 Congress, but are delighted to invite you to attend the postponed 20th International Congress of Oral Pathology and Medicine in 2021. As planned for 2020, the Congress is being organised jointly by our two societies and held in conjunction with the Scandinavian Society of Oral Pathology and Medicine.
The meeting will now be held on the 30th June to 3rd July 2021 at the same superb riverside venue in the heart of London we had planned for 2020, the Institution for Engineering and Technology. This historic building has excellent conference facilities and is ideal for the important networking and social interaction that are critical for a successful meeting.
The 2021 meeting will be the same mix of scientific presentations, plenary lectures and posters that had been planned for 2020, including the novel e-posters. We are delighted that our key speakers for 2020 have agreed to speak in 2021. These well-known speakers come from many countries and there will be plenary sessions on sinonasal pathology, oral and laryngeal precursor lesions, oral cancer immunology and immunotherapy plus a debate on odontogenic tumours, presentations on salivary glands and hopefully your own interesting research or case report?
Our colleagues from the Scandinavian Society for Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine will be involved in organising the clinico-pathological conference. Both they and the IAOP have named prize lectures, the Pindborg Lecture and the IAOP President’s Lecture. As yet the winners and lecture topics are unknown, but both always provide educational talks of the highest standard.
We both have lifelong friends and collaborators from around the world who we first met at IAOP conferences. We are delighted to invite you to join us and hope you will be able to come and take advantage of this very special meeting, meet old friends and make new ones. London is a wonderful city and we encourage you to make some extra time to take advantage of the city, its museums, galleries, theatres, bars and nightlife.
After the disappointment of 2020, we look forward to welcoming you to the meeting in 2021.
EW Odell (President IAOP)
AW Barrett (President BSOMP)
