Coronavirus (COVID-19)

20th International Congress on Oral Pathology & Oral Medicine

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Updated 13 May 2020

The International Congress on Oral Pathology and Medicine (IAOP 2020) has been rescheduled and will be held from June 30th to July 3rd 2021.

Since our last update many countries have begun to slowly lift their “lockdowns” giving hope that we may soon return to a “new normal”.  However, there is still much caution with some countries still showing an increasing number of cases, and some have reported a second wave of infections.  Also, to protect their populations, many countries have continued to restrict travel, with bans on visitors or quarantine procedures.

It is not certain how long these restrictions will last, but there is speculation that it may have to continue until a vaccine is widely available – and this could take 1 year to 18 months.

The IAOP, BSOMP and the IAOP2020 organising committee are continually monitoring the situation and it is hoped that the 2021 meeting will be able to go ahead as planned.

We will be directly contacting members, all registrants and abstract presenters to keep you updated on the situation and information will be posted on the meeting website.
